Here is the profile data; you are a student or you have a job, you have on average a minium of 5 meetings per week, you multitask and you’re not too bad at it, you are organized or not, yet somehow things seem to keep coming to you, asking for you, needing you… and, you end up having to postpone constantly due to priorities, priorities, priorities… well ain’t that a nice word that resonates well in your head?

So here’s to you, cheers! If you are Obama or you have an ‘’agenda de ministre’’ like some like to say, or what I call a ‘’busy bee’’, welcome to my world cuz you are not on your own!

The classic monochrome AKA 50 shades of grey

Synonym of elegance, vintage, Chanel-like, Paris, but most of all CLASSIC. As timeless as it is, the combination of black & white is one of the ultimate favorites. Their blend, which together create the ‘’shades of grey’’ is the go-to look whenever you don’t feel like being too colorful. It works in all seasons, it’s easy to accessorize AND it looks good in any type of body! (and any type of hair color and skin color and lipstick and hat and eye shadow and I think almost anythiiing!).

Inspired by the transition between winter and spring, this outfit has the velvet grey hat (winter), a pair of black simple shorts (spring) and black tights to go with it (winter). The perfect look for a chilly, yet sunny day in London.

Tired of having to mix and match colors. Tired of black. Tired of white. Don’t feel like being colorful? There’s a solution; go for the monochromatic street style outfit.

The trick? Just make sure you pair it with accessories of one other plain color or gold & silver to make the shades of color stand out. And that’s all.

Yes, sometimes it is nice to just go for an easy and simple look. These photos were taken whilst running around in the streets of Paris during the Fashion Week. It is the perfect example of an effortless outfit, especially as it is ‘’protecting’’ me from the not too cold, yet rainy weather.

BTW take out your baby blue & cut out tops, it’s is THE season for it!

How to: be less sleepy in 10 simple steps

”I woke up like this” – wait, no, that’s a lie.

Since exactly one week, one of my close friends has been requesting me EVERY single day to give him advice on how to be less sleepy. Apparently, my ‘’8 tips to being more productive & tick off the to-do-list’’ just aren’t enough for his daily life at school. As mentioned previously, I am a busy bee, and sometimes I do wonder how it is that I manage to still be awake. I think I might be a little hyper. Anyway, that’s not the point! The point is, it is exactly 11:15 PM on Sunday night and his late night texts shouting out for help have inspired me to write this article.

So, how do you have a beauty sleep? This is quite a complex topic; whether you have insomnias, or despite having slept 8 hours, you still don’t seem to be waking up! I will not elaborate on the insomnias, yet if you want some advice, I suggest to listen to calming music found on YouTube (relaxing music), breathing veeeery slowly, opening a book to read, writing in your diary, opening the window and avoiding black tea or singing before going to bed.

So more specifically, how do I fight sleepiness? First of all, we all, individuals, function differently. I, for instance, know that I have a fast metabolism, meaning that my body will soak up all my energy to digest immediately after having had some carbs, sugar or proteins. Thus, having no energy, I literally need a 30-minute nap and am absolutely unable to focus in class. As I have 3 times statistics class and macroeconomics after lunch, I make sure to just have a light lunch (salad or the 5 snacks per day policy), without starving, of course. So here’s my first tip; know how your body functions and plan your day around that. Following that, here are little things you can do that actually make a difference (you can trust me on this, I have personally experienced it and all that is written here has been backed up with research as well).

  1. Avoid eating too much sugar, carbs or proteins before an important class
  2. DON’T SKIP YOUR BREAKFAST!!!!! (my favorite meal of the day). Or any other meals. Honestly, you haven’t eaten in like 10 hours! Why do you make yourself go through hell by skipping breakfast? And remember food = energy.
  3. JUICES! Fresh juices = fresh fruits = vitamins. The logical continuity of this equation would be vitamins= healthy. But wait, don’t forget that vitamins are healthy because they BOOST your immune system, hence your energy. AND if you like having sour drinks like me (strawberry, orange and lemon, my ultimate favorite) you can be sure that the sourness will wake you up!
  4. Take a cold shower (obviously, I don’t do that, but go for it, if you’re up to it)
  5. Don’t take the bus, WALK. Fresh air and cold weather WILL wake you up. Or do 10 minutes of exercise in the morning, trust me, as controversial as it sounds, it actually boosts your energy through the increase of flow in your blood.

The sequinned mini

It’s about time to jump into the spring pieces. Since a year now the mini tube skirt is back. Once again, it is only reviving, but this time, unlike in the 1990’s, the minis are designed in all sorts of fabric. From leather, to denim, button down, patchwork, suede and even embroidery, only the trim remains the same.

It’s all about the statement. No need of excessive jewelry or accessories anymore to make a statement, like 5 years ago. The skirt itself says it all.

The entire outfit revolves around this one piece of clothing. One might say that it makes the outfit limited, as fluo yellow is not an easy color to combine. Boyfriend pants have been in for quite some years now. Though they look awesome & stylish, it surely is time to upgrade them.

They give an edge to our look, yet it is a little harder to combine it & I understand it has most likely become a tiring & repetitive look. But don’t give them away yet, cuz 2017 trends has just opened a new door to them! Yes, stickers, patches & embroidery are everywhere, in all possible stores! Time to give that edgy look a bit more color & fun! Perfect for spring, you can now play around with your colourful items.

8 tips to be more productive & get things done

Did you ever measure the hours you spend on Facebook or any other social media? Shameful no? Do you ever wish you had more than 24 hours a day because you’re such a busy bee? Do you have trouble focusing on your work, ticking that to-do-list (laundry, cleaning, projects, DIY’s etc)?

Sometimes, life is a struggle. Yet, what you might not know, is that there are a lot little things you can do in order to tick your to-do-list, be more productive, hence, feel satisfied from what you managed to do in just one little hour. Time flies when you’re on social media. Instead of watching useless animations, that precious time could be spent more wisely doing other stuff. So here are a few useful tips that have proven to be quite effective to my relatives, friends and to myself.

  1. Get your working clothes on

Although it might not seem like it, trust me it is one of the most effective ways to get things done. Feeling clean, fresh and professional (yet still comfortable, blazer NOT required), it will immediately put you into a more serious work atmosphere.

Why leopard prints are a must in your closet

It never gets old, it’s a classic!

Let me elaborate; although animal prints are often disregarded, unless you are an all animal print lover and only buy that, you don’t have to be Lady Gaga to wear this sort of print. And even if I agree that wearing such prints can be connoted as vulgar, sexy, cheap , not animal-friendly or just ’’too much’’, there are many ways to make it look sophisticated (using faux prints).

Let us go back in time and maybe, take a look at your grandmother’s closet or photos…

Indeed, whether it is the silent generation or Tom Cruise’s daughter rocking a leopard printed item, here’s my opinion; they definitely know how to unleash their wild side!

Rules apply:

  • know that if you do opt for leopard, this will be the main focus of your outfit!
  • just have one animal printed item or clothing at a time… you are not a jungle
  • do NOT mix it up with glitter, lace, embroidery, velvet etc… again, let’s avoid being a fashion victim
  • suede, a tiny bit of lace or ripped pants is acceptable (thumbs up), but keep it discreet
  • have fun with it!
